Christian works for the European Commission, DG TAXUD, in the field of sanctions and sanctions circumvention. He has experience in policy and data analysis, both in the private, academia and in the public sector and since 2022, he works on the subject of sanctions circumvention and trade flows analysis. In particular, he analyses trade patterns and transactional level data concerning EU-sanctioned goods, with a particular focus on the ones deemed as crucial from a military perspective, or even found on the battlefield in Ukraine, to spot possible attempts of circumventing the EU restrictive measures.
